CSR that builds independent lives

Partner with National Association for the Blind, State Chapter, Lucknow.

Losing your sight should not mean losing your schooling, your work or your place alongside everyone else. For more than 35 years we have built the bridge from a braille classroom to a first pay cheque, with corporate partners beside us along the way. Your CSR spend goes into programmes with a long track record, a clear budget and reporting your board can rely on.

Where your CSR goes

Two primary focus areas, from a child's first braille lesson to a first job.

Inclusive schools

Visually impaired children learning in the same classrooms as their sighted peers, from the earliest years. Early braille literacy is what decides whether a child keeps pace through school, so this is where your funding does the most lasting good.

Your funding covers

  • Special educators and braille teachers
  • Braille kits, slates, books and learning aids
  • Accessible classrooms, and our planned inclusive school campus
  • Counselling that helps families keep their child in school

Track record: Integrated education since 1995, with Ministry of HRD support, grown to five districts and 20 units by 2009.

Vocational training

Computer and job-ready skills for visually impaired young adults, followed by placement support that stays with them past the first month. It is the most direct route from education to an independent income.

Your funding covers

  • Screen-reader computer training batches
  • Trainers, lab equipment and assistive software
  • Life-skills and home-science workshops
  • Placement and on-the-job support

Track record: Computer training since 2012 with NAB India, continued and expanded with Amway's support from 2015.
